About The Author

Jana Bommersbach is an acclaimed and respected Arizona journalist whose work has encompassed every facet of the profession: She's a best-selling author; she currently writes columns and investigative stories for Phoenix magazine and True West magazine; she's been a reporter and editor for The Arizona Republic and New Times of Phoenix; she's appeared on KAET-TV and KTVK-TV with political commentaries and investigative stories, and she created KAET's "Books & Co." author interview show.
In 1983, Jana was named Journalist of the Year by the Arizona Press Club, which in 2004 gave her its lifetime achievement award. She was named to the Order of the Silver Key in 2006 by the Society for Professional Journalists, "as an inspiration to the state's media." She also was an inaugural inductee in 2005 in the Arizona Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame.
Jana has been honored for outstanding communication and leadership skills by the International Association of Firefighters, the Arizona Education Association, the Arizona Psychological Association, Toastmasters, the YWCA, Girls Ranch of Arizona, the Greater Phoenix Child Abuse Prevention Council, the Arizona Chapter of the ACLU, Arizona Women's Partnership, Phoenix Theater, the American Bar Association, the National Commission on Working Women, and American Women in Radio and Television.
Jana lives in central Phoenix where she continues her freelance career and is working on another book.
