About The Author

photo of Terri FieldsTerri Fields is an award-winning children’s author of seventeen books geared to children from kindergarten through high school.  Her books have garnered her invitations to speak throughout the US and internationally, and one of her books was made into a movie.  Danger in the Desert won children’s choice awards in Minnesota and Georgia and has been part of Battle of the Books several times in Arizona.  In addition to Danger in the Desert, her latest book, Burro’s Tortillas is set in the Southwestern desert she loves. 

In addition to her writing, Terri is also a teacher who has won numerous honors including being named to the All USA Teacher Team of the nation’s top twenty teachers. As a writer, English teacher, and reading facilitator, Terri cannot think of a more delightful honor than to have her book be the ONEBOOKAZ for KIDS for 2008.  She says, “I believe so strongly in the idea of cultural literacy, and to have that, in any way, center around one of my books is tremendously exciting.”
